Detachment Mission
Film | Portugal | 2016 | 6'
Collaboration with Valentin Tszin
This dance film follows a mysterious dancer moving through the streets and landscapes of Lisbon, almost animal-like, interacting with the city's unique light and architecture. His movements feel disconnected from the everyday life around him, unnoticed by the passers-by who are lost in their own worlds. As he dances, he's searching for something—recognition, maybe, or understanding through his shadow or projections. Like a character being born into a fictional film that doesn't exist around him, he seems to be constantly looking for a way to exist beyond the indifference of his surroundings.
A collaboration with Russian dancer Valentin Tszin, as a part of Capturing Dance, which connected students from the Phil Collins seminar at Academy of Media Arts, Cologne, and the SODA performance program at HZT, Berlin.
